Nigeria to Create 10 Million Jobs Through National Lottery Trust Fund
In a recent development, the Nigerian government has emphasized its unwavering commitment to harnessing the proceeds generated from the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to fuel job creation and educational funding initiatives across the nation. This announcement comes as part of the government’s concerted efforts to bolster economic growth and empower its citizens.
According to The Nation, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, announced that the government plans to create over 10 million employment opportunities within the lottery and gaming industry.

Jisalo believes the lottery and gaming sector has great potential as a “wealth generator” and promised to improve its operations.
“The lottery is a wealth generator,” he stated. He also noted that the industry has created a significant number of jobs for Nigerians in recent years, and this number is expected to increase to over 10 million due to the size and population of the Nigerian economy.
Triple bonus 200% up to ₦150,000Jisalo made these comments while speaking during the “Back to School Jump Start Project” (Phase 2), an initiative sponsored by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, in collaboration with the NLTF.
During the programme, Gbajabiamila donated e-learning equipment, including laptops, android tablets, stationery, and sanitation materials, to hundreds of pupils from 46 schools in the Surulere Federal Constituency.
NLTF’s Vision for the Future
Bello Maigari, the Executive Secretary of NLTF, spoke on behalf of the minister, saying, “We are doing everything we can to revitalize this industry, which holds great promise for Nigeria in raising enormous revenues and creating job opportunities for young people. We hope to help realize President Bola Tinubu-led government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Maigari’s comments were in reference to the funding of the second phase of the “Back to School Jump Start Project” by the National Lottery Trust Fund which aims to build on the achievements of the first phase, improve the standard of learning and create a conducive learning environment in public schools across Surulere Federal Constituency.
