However, they’ve surpassed expectations and have already bettered their best-ever record for wins, with two victories in a single tournament for the first time. One of those victories was a convincing 2-0 dismantling of defending champions Italy in the last 16.
Only a late equaliser denied them victory against hosts Germany, which would have seen them top the group. The Swiss are full of confidence and will fancy their chances against England in the last 16.
