Changes for the 2024/25 Premier League Season
One significant change for the upcoming season is the scrapping of the mid-season (winter) break.
The Premier League has decided to scrap the winter break to allow for a mid-August start to the season and to ensure all players receive a full three weeks of summer rest.
To compensate, and to address the congested fixture schedule, clubs will have more rest periods between games during the Christmas and New Year match rounds, ensuring no club plays within 60 hours of another match.
Additionally, there will be no games on Christmas Eve, unlike in 2023 when Chelsea played Wolves on December 24.
