As we edge into the 2024/2025 Premier League season, just seven games in, it’s already looking like the battle to avoid relegation will involve the current bottom six.
The bottom six clubs have barely managed to scrape together a point per game on average, and although there’s plenty of football left to play, their outlooks aren’t exactly rosy.
Last season saw the unfortunate fate of all three promoted sides – Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United – plummeting straight back down to the Championship. And if the early signs are anything to go by, we might just be in for a similar story this year.
Southampton and Ipswich, fresh faces from the Championship, are still searching for their first win, while Leicester City have only managed one victory.
Unsurprisingly, most sports betting sites have them pegged as prime candidates to drop in the 2024/2025 Premier League relegation betting.
But it’s not just the newcomers who should be nervous. Wolves and Crystal Palace are also winless so far, and then there’s Everton, who seem to have perfected the art of self-destruction. After flirting with relegation for several seasons now, could this finally be the year the Toffees fall through the trapdoor for the first time in Premier League history?
The 2024/2025 Premier League relegation betting odds are certainly hinting that Everton and Sean Dyche’s survival instincts might not be enough this time around.

Southampton @ 1.25
One point from their opening seven fixtures has Southampton marooned in 19th place but top of the 2024/2025 Premier League relegation betting odds.
Southampton don’t score nearly enough goals, having managed just four so far. They can’t keep out the opposition either, with their backline letting in 15 goals. With numbers like that, survival seems a distant dream.
Russell Martin’s insistence on an attacking style might work in the Championship, but it’s proving disastrous in the Premier League, especially with a squad that’s simply not up to top-flight standard.
A more pragmatic approach could give them a fighting chance, but Martin appears to prefer aesthetics over survival.
Can you really blame him, though? After all, Vincent Kompany’s relegation with Burnley didn’t stop him from landing the Bayern Munich job.
In any case, it’s hard to see Southampton turning this around. They’re six points worse off than this time last year when they were eventually relegated. Without a miracle, another trip to the Championship seems inevitable.
2024/2025 Premier League: Southampton to be Relegated @ 1.25Leicester @ 1.60
Leicester are the only newly promoted side to win a game this season, thanks to Facundo Buonanotte’s goal in a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth just before the international break.
The Foxes have also picked up three draws, including a 1-1 against Tottenham in their opening match of the season and have six amassed points to stay in 16th place.
They’ve acquitted themselves very well in their first seven games and came really close to nicking a result at Arsenal before succumbing late on to lose 4-2.
So, their position as second favourites in the 2024/2025 Premier League relegation odds seems more about their newly promoted status than any actual struggles.
They’ve shown enough fight in these first few games to suggest they have the grit needed to stay up, but time will tell.
2024/2025 Premier League: Leicester to be Relegated @ 1.60Ipswich @ 1.80
Ipswich might have no wins on the board so far, but they had to face Liverpool and Manchester City in their opening two games, a tall ask for a team making their first Premier League appearance since 2002.
Since then, they’ve got four straight draws against Fulham, Brighton, Southampton, and Aston Villa before a heavy 4-1 loss to West Ham last time out.
However, their short 2024/2025 Premier League relegation odds shouldn’t lead to Kieran McKenna’s side being written off.
That said, the Tractor Boys will need to start winning games to boost their survival chances.
2024/2025 Premier League: Ipswich to be Relegated @ 1.80Wolverhampton Wanderers @ 2.50
Wolves did well to beat the drop last season but have made a disastrous start this term, taking just one point from seven games and propping the rest of the league.
Gary O’Neil’s side can’t defend for their lives, having allowed a staggering 21 goals and conceding two or more goals in six of their seven matches.
While defences win titles, as the saying goes, they’re also key to surviving relegation battles, and Wolves’ leaky backline is a major concern.
At this rate, Wolves look like a certainty to go down. Their fans might want to start bracing for life in the Championship.
2024/2025 Premier League: Wolverhampton Wanderers to be Relegated @ 2.50Everton @ 3.25
Sean Dyche pulled off a miracle last season, keeping Everton up despite an eight-point deduction. Hopes were high for a better campaign this time around, but things haven’t quite gone to plan. The Toffees lost their opening four matches and currently find themselves in 17th place.
Last season, Everton had the second-most clean sheets in the league and conceded just 51 goals. But this term, they’ve already let in 13 and have only managed one clean sheet.
To make matters worse, they’ve repeatedly dropped points from winning positions, blowing leads against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and Leicester.
Dyche’s reputation means Everton will always have a chance, but after flirting with relegation for the past few seasons, they might finally get burned.
Unless other struggling teams perform worse, Everton’s unbroken Premier League stay could be coming to an end.
2024/2025 Premier League: Everton to be Relegated @ 3.25Crystal Palace @ 7.00
Crystal Palace are still searching for their first win of the season, and last season’s strong finish appears a distant memory as they languish in 18th place.
The Eagles have lost their last two and have found goals difficult to come by, having managed just five so far. With Eberechi Eze struggling for form, it’s hard to see where the goals will come from in Oliver Glasner’s side.
Anyone betting on their 7.00 odds for relegation might just end up celebrating come season’s end.
2024/2025 Premier League: Crystal Palace to be Relegated @ 7.00Nottingham Forest @ 11.00
Nottingham Forest’s position in the 2024/2025 Premier League relegation odds seems to be based more on last season, where they barely escaped the drop, than anything they’ve shown this campaign.
In fact, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have surprised many with their strong start. They went unbeaten in their first five games, including a 1-0 win at Liverpool, before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Fulham.
They rebounded with a gritty 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, having gone a man down – further evidence this Forest side are far removed from last season’s strugglers.
All signs suggest that Forest should be safe this season.
